What should be done after the facelift and neck lift in Turkey?
The recovery time after a facelift and neck lift varies according to the person, the type of surgery, and the experience of your surgeon.
- Instructions about your recovery process will be given by your doctor, and you should follow them carefully.
- After the surgery, the patient starts eating and walks within 4-6 hours.
- In the hospital, patients can be kept under control for a single day.
- Drains are taken out in a day or two.
- Bandages stay on for an average of one week.
- There may be mild pain after the operation, but it is relieved with painkillers.
- The bruises and swelling seen after the operation will decrease and disappear after a week. Ice treatment can be applied to accelerate healing. This may be prolonged depending on the sagging in the neck and facial problems.
- Salty foods should be avoided for a while, and plenty of water should be consumed to heal the swelling quickly and reduce the edema.
- Since the surgery scars remain in front and behind the ears, they are not very visible. The scars become completely invisible within 6–12 months.
- Patients can resume their daily life and activities one week after surgery.
- It takes six to seven months for the skin to return to normal.
- Care should be taken to keep the head above the level of the heart so that after the operation, you should lie close to a semi-sitting position. It is useful to sleep with two pillows.
- It is essential to wear a face mask for two weeks. It is sufficient to wear it only in the evening for the next 2 weeks.
- The scars of the incisions in the anterior ear area will be visible for a few months. Those who do not want the scars to be visible can minimise the prominence with make-up or hide them completely.
- You should abstain from smoking for a while.
- Skin cleansing with skin care products can be done in the third or fourth week after the operation.
It is advisable to abstain from strenuous activity for a specific duration. Vitamin supplements might aid in the healing process of the skin.
